Carissimi amici,

già sapete che da anni sono onorata di utilizzare la mia immagine, la mia voce e il mio tempo libero per far conoscere attraverso la musica la causa e le storie dei “bambini farfalla”, delle loro straordinarie famiglie, di chi promuove la ricerca e di chi sostiene e coadiuva l’impegno delle famiglie e della scienza per l’assistenza e la cura dei malati di ‘epidermolisi bollosa’.

Finalmente realizzo un sogno, organizzando questo Gala a favore dell’associazione Debra Südtirol – Alto Adige, il primo di altri che si terranno con cadenza annuale. Ho voluto farlo in una città che significa molto per gli ammalati di ‘epidermolisi bollosa’ e molto anche per me – perché Modena è la città dove sono nati due dei nostri miti, Mirella Freni e Luciano Pavarotti – e ho potuto farlo grazie alla sensibilità del direttore artistico del Teatro Pavarotti-Freni Modena, Aldo Sisillo, protagonista assieme all’OFI Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana e a me della serata.

Mi rivolgo alla comunità musicale e sociale modenese, che il patrocinio della Città di Modena ben rappresenta, e a voi tutti, con un invito ad aderire all’evento, sostenendo così il lavoro della onlus Debra Südtirol – Alto Adige.

Dearest friends,

you already know that for many years I have had the honour of using my name, my voice and my free time to spread the word through music about the good cause and the stories of the “butterfly children”, their incredible families, those who promote research and those who support and cooperate in the efforts of families and science for the assistance and treatment of ‘epidermolysis bullosa’ patients.

My dream is coming true at last, with the organization of this Gala in support of the association Debra Südtirol – Alto Adige, the first of many that will take place annually. I wanted it to happen in a city which means a lot to ‘epidermolysis bullosa’ patients, and a lot to me too, because Modena is the city where two of our legends, Mirella Freni and Luciano Pavarotti, were born, and I have been able to do this thanks to the sensitivity of Aldo Sisillo, artistic director at the Teatro Pavarotti-Freni, who will play a leading role at the gala alongside me and the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana.

My invitation goes out to all members of Modena’s musical and social circles, admirably represented through the patronage of the Modena city council, and to every one of you, to attend this event and, through your presence, to support the work of the charity Debra Südtirol – Alto Adige.
