Manfred Obrecht – Conductor Passion and tireless motivation characterize each of his concerts. For him, music is a continuous dialogue of emotions! Manfred Obrecht has been closely associated with the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana as Principal Guest Conductor since 2008. For two decades now, he has played a key role in shaping the artistic profile of the Philharmonie Baden-Baden as its permanent guest conductor. Since 2001, he has regularly conducted the London Concert Symphony Orchestra, which interprets the great works of classical music with its 85 musicians. Other engagements have taken him to the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra in Bratislava, the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra, the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. As artistic director, he shapes the sound of the international wind ensemble Classic Festival Brass with his inspiring signature style. Manfred Obrecht regularly conducts performances of major symphonic choral works with the Coro dell'Opera di Parma, WDR Radio Choir Cologne, Moscow Cathedral Choir, Czech Philharmonic Choir, Arcis Vocalists Munich, Swiss Youth Choir, Choir of the Theater Biel Solothurn, Zurich Concert Choir, Classic Festival Choir, La Compagnia Rossini, Akademischer Chor Zürich, Chor der Universität Luzern, and the Aurelius Sängerknaben. He works closely with renowned artists. His prominent colleagues include Regula Mühlemann, Ramón Vargas, Rachel Harnisch, Noëmi Nadelmann, Lucrezia Drei, Tine Thing Helseth, Selina Ott, Sharon Kam, Gábor Boldoczki, Daniel Ottensamer, Alessio Allegrini, and Sergei Nakariakov. He also conceives and realizes impressive concert formats with personalities from the German theater and film scene. Stars such as Sky du Mont, Christian Kohlund, Barbara Wussow, Christine Neubauer, Patrik Fichte, Miroslav Nemec, Jan-Gregor Kremp, and Sebastian Ströbel have appeared on stage with him. As a conductor, Manfred Obrecht also enjoys successful collaborations with leading British brass bands, including the Yorkshire Building Society Band, Brighouse & Rastrick Band, British Leyland Band, Desford Colliery Band, Flowers Band, and Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
