OFI is chosen to represent Italy with the RAI national orchestra by the London Symphony Orchestra. For the YouTube online teaching project. OFI sided 23 main international orchestras to improve musical education around the world.

November 2012

OFI participates to the homage to Jules Massenet with a concert at the Monaco Cathedral in the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death.

November 2013

OFI tours in Florence, Padova and Rome with Serj Tankian, polyhedric founder of the renowned rock band System of a Down and author of three symphonic rock projects: Elect The Dead Symphony (2007), Orca (2013), Jazz-iz Christ (2013).

(Zofingen – Svizzera, una notte italiana)

A Swiss success for the orchestra of Piacenza. “A proper triumph with over 2.000 people in the audience at the Zofingen Auditorium for the concert “Una notte italiana” (…). An apotheosis of emotions with a climax of fifteen-minute applauses and standing-ovation. For the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana, celebrating in 2007 its 30 years, Zofingen is not just another international success: it is a special achievement, reached together with Maestro Vito Lombardi, from Piacenza as well.”

“Double 'enplein' in just a few days for the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana of Piacenza. After two exhibitions in Rome the ensemble performed in Brescia, gathering two important applauses from the audience that add up to its already consistent list of trophies (…). Conducted by Marco Fracassi, the OFI performed in Rome the Requiem Mass of Gaetano Donizetti in the splendid frame of theSanta Maria in Ara Coeli basilica (…). The basilica was filled with a competent audience who showed their appreciation with many ovations (…). OFI conquered a second round of applause (…) at Teatro Grande of Brescia the concert starred Daniela Dessì and the tenor Fabio Armiliato. Conducting by Maestro Marcello Rota. A 'magical evening' according to the local press, starring two exceptional vocals, a valuable orchestra, an extremely sensitive conductor and a fascinating program that charmed the audience of the sold-out Teatro Grande. After the final standing-ovation, the audience was then awarded for its enthusiasm with the Waltz of Gattopardo by Verdi-Rota, performed by OFI and M° Rota with extraordinary lightness and precision, completing eventually a definitely magical evening”

“Many applauses and great admiration in the land of the pharaohs for OFI, the philarmonic orchestra Piacenza that concluded a mini-tournée in the Cairo and in Ain Soukhna (…). Performing as a brass ensemble (…) OFI presented a seductive repertoire of great impact entirely dedicated to Italian works (…). The author of the transcriptions is Fabrizio Francia, violinist and composer of OFI who is an active collaborator of Andrea Bocelli, for whom he realized arrangements for big orchestra of his soloist works.”
